There are basically three types of layouts as Grid Layout, Race Track Layout and Free Form layout.

1 Grid Layout:

The grid layout is basically a type of rack that has a separate passage with the products on the each side of the aisles. In this type of rack, the cash counters are located on the exit and entry point of the shopping mall, mart or store, which force the customer to move through the entire store before selecting their desire merchandise from the store. This type of Grid Layout is cost and space effective and properly utilized the space of any area.

Racetrack Layout:

This type of rack offers main passage that loops through the entire store to direct the customers around the different departments of a shopping mall or store. In these types of racks, the passage is separated and identified by using different colors. Usually, the case counters are located in every department. The main purpose of these types of racks is to provide ease to the customers to find their desired product in every department.

Free Form Layout:

This type of rack layout is used in large departmental stores and small retail marts or stores. This type of rack management system offers a cool and relaxed environment for shopping. In this type of layout plan, there is no specific traffic pattern set for the customers.
